Privacy Policy

Nakshatra is a Vedic astrology app run by Taaro Labs ("we"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and how you can delete everything.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address and a securely hashed password (we never see or store your actual password).
- Birth details: date, time and place of birth, which we need to calculate your chart.
- About you, only if you choose to tell us: your relationship status and dates such as a marriage, separation or a fixed wedding date, and your work status. We use it only so answers fit your life. You can change or clear it any time in Profile → About you.
- Your questions and our answers in Ask, and match reports you create, including the names and birth details you enter for the other person.
- Approximate location when you ask a question, if you allow it. A question is read for the moment and place it is asked; we store the place with the question. If you don't allow location, we use your birth place instead.
- Crash and performance reports from Apple's diagnostics on your phone, so we can fix problems. These do not include your questions or birth details.
- Settings such as reading language and chart style.
We do not sell your data, show ads, or use advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To calculate your chart, life periods and the charts for your questions.
- To write your readings and answers. The text needed for this (your question, chart positions and first name) is sent to our AI provider to generate the reply.
- To send you account emails, such as verification and password reset codes.
- To keep the service secure and working.
Who helps us run Nakshatra
- Render hosts our servers and database (Singapore region).
- Anthropic provides the AI that writes readings and answers. It processes the text we send to produce a reply.
- Resend delivers verification and password reset emails.
- Apple processes in-app purchases and provides crash diagnostics; we never see your card details.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Delete account. This immediately and permanently deletes your account, birth details, charts, questions, answers and match reports from our database. Copies in routine backups are overwritten as those backups expire.
Your rights
You can see and correct your details in the app, delete your account in the app, or write to us at hello@taarolabs.com to ask what we hold about you. We handle requests in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act, 2012.
Age
Nakshatra is meant for people aged 18 and over.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app.
